"XSEDE - - Computational Resources beyond BU"

The Scientific Computing and Visualization group at Boston University provides high performance computer systems (http://www.bu.edu/tech/research/computation/about-computation/), without charge, to our research community. On occasion, a research project may have special needs (such as a very large number of processors, extra long runtime, or very large memory) that require resources beyond those available at BU.  For such projects, the external resources provided through the NSF-funded XSEDE program may be appropriate.  In this brief seminar, we will discuss what these computing resources are, how to "take a test drive", and how to apply for time on XSEDE systems. There will be ample time for Q&A from the audience.
