"Warehouse Inventory Management Project for Jointown Group Co., Ltd, Wuhan, China"

Jointown Group Co, Ltd is a pharmaceutical company with over 20,000 products, shipping daily to pharmacies, retailers, and medical centers across China. Their distribution system is complex, utilizing shipping direct to customers and intermediate warehouses, shipping product to customers in pallets, cases, or as individually wrapped items. Their ordering system at warehouses formerly consisted of daily ad hoc visual estimates by an inventory manager. We implemented a modified (s, S) inventory system in the Wuhan warehouse, resulting in lower on-hand inventories, less frequent stock outs, higher safety standards, improved customer satisfaction, and greater profitability.
